Cong has worked on the ideology of development: Bansal

Chandigarh today boasts of the best facilities in health and education besides being the most beautiful city of the country. Congress candidate Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal while speaking in Faidan village during a public meeting said the city had during his tenure set an example in slum rehabilitation and thanked the villagers for their support to him in all these years.

Mr. Bansal spoke about the achievements of the UPA government and said as per the party manifesto released this week, Right to Health and House was among the priorities. He said people would get the benefit of free treatment and also help those who are paying rent through the Right to House once it comes into force.

He said in city 15 new schools have come up and another 15 have been upgraded and Right to Education had also been beneficial to many. He appealed to the people to vote for the Congress as this was the only party which worked for the people with sincerity.

He also said that Congress believed in ideology of development and that is why Chandigarh has seen so much development in the last few years. While referring to the water supply in Faidan village Mr. Bansal said it was during his tenure that he had got installed a tubewell which helped getting rid of water woes in the village.

He said he had never ignored the southern sectors and ensured development of the entire city, its colonies and villages, which included opening of community centres and new dispensaries.

Among those present there included mayor H.C. Kalyan, Kamlesh, Principal Gurbachan Singh, Mahinder Chaudhary, Suresh Manchanda, Devender Singh, H.S. Lucky, Devinder  Babla, Sandeep Bhardwaj, Harmel Kesari, Chitaranjan and Bhupinder Singh Badheri among others.

Meanwhile, Mr. Bansal today carried out a door to door campaign in Sector 18 and 19 markets where he was given a rousing welcome. He was welcomed with garlands and slogans in favour of the party and for his role in development of city markets. Some of the shopkeepers also distributed sweets, and assured they would support Bansal.

Mr. Bansal also visited Sector 19 Palika Bazar where he was welcomed by the traders with enthusiasm. Among those present were former mayor Subhash Chawla, area councilor Mukesh Bassi, Khalil Ahmed, Pawan Sharma, Naresh Jain, Raja Bhapa, Ravinder Singh Pali, Ajay Joshi, Sunil Chopra, Bunty Narang, Vijay Rana, Gurbax Rawat, Kishan Bansal, Rajesh Moudgil, Ashwani Kaushal, Ajay Sharma and Parveen Duggal.

He carried out a Padyatra early in the morning in Sector 61 where he was welcomed by the residents. He also visited Sector 49 motor market which had come up 13 years back when Bansal was the MP. His supporters thanked him for the development of market and other measures taken for their welfare.
