'Probe role of BJP leaders in MC Scam': Congress

Chandigarh Congress today demanded probing the role of BJP leaders in the allotment of tender to a private firm for operation of public toilets. Senior party leaders have said the names of those involved in the scam should be revealed.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a preliminary inquiry into the allotment of 4.5 crore tender to a private firm for operation and maintenance of 86 public toilets in 2007.
 
Senior officials with the then municipal corporation, including former MC Chief engineer's name, has reportedly cropped up in the case. Some officials with the company allotted the tender Selvel Media Service Private Limited are also under scanner.
The statement was issued by senior partyleaders including Rampal Sharma, Subhash Chawla, DD Jindal, HC Kalyan, Pardeep Chhabra, Pawan Sharma, Ravinder Pali, Davinder Babla, Bhupinder Badheri,HS Lucky, Shashi Shankar Tiwari, Om Parkash Saini, Poonam Sharma, Davinder Lubana, Lalit Joshi, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Raj Bala Malik, and Kamlesh.
 
The leaders said the incident is of the time when it was the BJP led Municipal Corporation. They said it should be a thorough probe and names of all those involved should be disclosed and appropriate action should be taken against the guilty.
