High Court lawyers, staff come in support of Pawan Bansal

‘Accuse your opponents, that’s what I have learned in politics’

Congress candidate, Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal today said he has always believed in performance and that’s what has helped me represent this city for three times. Reminiscing those times he spent as a lawyer, he said he still remembers how there were just a few hundred members of the bar association and now the number has risen to 8000.

After getting a warm welcome and support from the lawyers and the staff, Mr. Bansal was addressing them at the Punjab and Haryana High Court today. Mr. Bansal who himself hails from a family of lawyers, went around the court and was received with full support. He spent three hours in the court premises and was assured full support.

Mr. Bansal while addressing the members of legal fraternity said what he had learnt from politics is to accuse the opponents and that’s because he has always tried to perform and work sincerely but the opposition has always blamed me that I haven’t performed. “If I got a chance to represent the city four times, it was because of support of all of you”, he said.

He said today Chandigarh is known for its infrastructure, health and education facilities. He said today PGI has all the specialties, the Panjab University which was facing deficit has been given additional grant.

Talking about connectivity he said 10 new trains were started during last 10 months which have connected city to several cities. Mr. Bansal added air connectivity would also improve with consent having been given to increase watch hours which will allow international flights also to connect to Chandigarh.

Mr. Santokhwinder Singh Grewal (Nabha), Honorary Secretary of the Bar Association Punjab and Haryana High Court while speaking on the occasion said out of the amount of Rs 55 lakh approved out of MPLADS, Rs 25 lakh had already come, which was a big contribution of Mr. Bansal for the development of High Court.

Dr. Anmol Rattan Sidhu president of the Bar Association of Punjab and Haryana High Court also spoke on the occasion.
